While there are five national parks in Utah (Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Arches and Canyonlands) in which drone flying is currently banned, Utah is a huge state with magnificent scenery everywhere.

It is also very convenient to Las Vegas, beginning just two hours from my home. As a result, I have made a number of trips there and flown over some absolutely magnificent areas outside the parks and therefore legal.

As you see below, this is Paradise for drone pilots!

Northern Utah around Vernal

The area around Vernal boasts an amazing variety of visual wonders. I have visited before:http://www.divexprt.com/HDRphotography/FantasyCanyon/FantasyCanyon.html

For some of these attractions, the drones added a new perspective. While flying in the national Monuments is not allowed, I did fly over some farms just outside the park to get a view of Split mountain.
