Maldives

We have exciting news for those of you who haveinquired about diving in the Maldive Islands, which are located off the tip of theIndian subcontinent.

We are most pleased to offer the finest live-aboard diving inthe Maldives, as exemplified by the lavish, air-conditioned, 16 - passenger Madivaru 7.

With two major live-aboards, we can now dive wide areas of theseexotic atolls. We also offer a beautiful, 50 person hotel named Madoogali for sybariticshore-based diving.

Dive sites in the Maldives are widely scattered in a nationcomposed entirely of 1196 tiny atolls. The great magic of the Maldives is the tamefish life to be found on very shallow, sun dappled reefs. This is one of the bestplaces in the world for fish photography. The fish are intensely colorful, swarmin great numbers over the reef, and are nearly tame. Those of you who want all ofthe new species that abound in the Indian Ocean will find a treasure trove of subjectshere.

Our programs are ten to fourteen days in length, and offer atleastfour magnificent dives per day. Each dive is wildly different, and some are likenothing I have ever seen elsewhere. There are rich, stunning reefs six feet beneaththe surface. There are other dives where we briefly cross the lip of a channel atone hundred and twenty feet with immense current soaring above us -- yet we are intotally still water!

There is one site with a vertical stack of caves whose ceilings, one above the other, are completely lined with pink and blue soft corals! See more coral. We had manta rays. We hadseven hundred-pound groupers. We had a school of jacks in the hundreds in crystal-bluewater. We had pink sailfin leaffish. Indeed the fish photography is simply the easiestand finest in the world, because all the fish are so tame.

These cruises are among the most adventurous we offer anywhere. You can relax on deck, under a riot of brilliant stars. You can water ski acrosslimpid lagoons, or snorkel in 84 degree water. It is fabulous!

For those of you who have dived the Caribbean, the Red Sea,Micronesia, the South Pacific do we have something new for you! Photographers, prepareto be thrilled!
