Dry Lake Solar Farm

This solar farm is on Route 15 heading North out of Las Vegas toward St. George, Utah.

It is one of several similar farms scattered in the vast deserts of Nevada and a portion of California, including the enormous Ivanpah solar facility on the state border near Primm, (a small gambling resort town).

Nevada’s climate is hospitable to these farms, though they never seem to deliver the power claimed when they are built.
