Summer Cruises
in
Northwestern New Guinea

Golden Dawn’s Summer cruises out of Madang and Wewak go to some of Papua New Guinea’s most remote and isolated reefs and islands. The Hermit Islands, the Ninigoes, Bagabag, and other sites teem with life in a sea where you hardly see human habitation the entire cruise!

The purpose in these untraveled areas is to see new marine life, and last Summer's month-long exploratory surely found some. One of the most exciting discoveries was thousands of porpoises zooming in at us in crystal-clear water. Not once but repeatedly, our divers were buzzed by these sleek, graceful creatures.

Other sites were rich in the famous exotic species for which close-up photographers made New Guinea famous. There are several sites such as Hansa Bay with sunken WWII wrecks. These sites can have reduced visibility, but the incredible species of creatures that are found on these wrecks have divers clamoring for more.

Take this, add some shark feeding, and you have one of the new stars of Pacific diving. Golden Dawn is building a personal reputation for seeking out New Guinea’s most unusual and varied diving. Come and join us for new thrills in this most exotic of all Pacific destinations!
