Window Rock and Four Corners Winter 2015

I arrived in Window Rock with the weather deteriorating as a huge storm was forecast to the East of Arizona. The first morning it was still fairly calm, so I took two drone flights, but the wind was strengthening. By afternoon we had rain and gusts of 45 mph. Not drone weather.

However -- I did get to fly over Wheatfield Lake in the morning before the storm, and the Los Gigantes Buttes near Round Rock.

I was greeted next morning with the wind down -- but 22 degrees and frozen snow blanketing everything!

Amazingly, the weather warmed and the wind dropped. Taking advantage of the calm air, I raced to Los Gigantes, the Lukachukai foothills, Wheatfield Lake and the local crown jewel, Window Rock.

The closing days were magnificent! Got out to Edna's Needle and Hope Arch, nine miles out into the desert West of Round Rock, and a formation I call the Eye of Sauron near Fort Defiance. In calm weather, there are plenty of subjects here!
