This is a sublime place. A bit difficult to lug the drone down (I did it four times), but worth every struggle.
The Kootenai River here below the Libb Dam has a strong flow even in August. it would be much more powerful and turbulent in May and June as the snow-melt hits its strongest.
In the satellite image: from the Historical Marker, you can see a small white line angling up to the right. That is a bridge going across above the railroad tracks (don't want to run over the visitors!).
Another small white line angling across to the left is the Swinging Bridge. You can see it just above the words 'Kootenai River Historical Marker.'
