5 Cascade Lakes

Sparks Lake And Bachelor Mountain

This unusual lake is set among several snow-capped mountains in mid-June. In fact, I wanted to get to nearby Todd Lake, but it was still snowed in

As the sign shows, Sparks Lake is dwindling as the years pass. Still, it is beautiful in its own way, especially with Mount Bachelor as background.

Mount Bachelor

After leaving Sparks Lake, a quick stop at the Mount Bachelor Ski Area allows us to see the slopes without exposing the body to spiral fractures. We can also turn the drone and see the nearby North and South Sisters, and Broken Top. It is a garden of snow-capped peaks!

Odell Lake

This good-sized lake is along Route 58 as we drive toward Salt Creek Falls. As with so many other big lakes around here, there are only a few fishermen out on the lake.

Salt Creek Falls

This wonderful waterfall is both convenient to the highway and located on the outskirts of the entire Cascade Lakes region. I have been here on earlier trips to Oregon, but wanted to position the drone to get a portrait of the falls from the level of the river.
